REUSE OF COLD WATER – By using tunnel pasteurization during several scenarios, water is being used for cooling. In most of the cases this water is fresh water which is used only one time and then drained to a channel. By use of water recovery system all the cooling water is intercepted below pasteurizer in collecting pipe, cooled down on a cooling tower and stored in a tank of cold water, so that it can be reused in the tunnel pasteurizer. In this case, the average water consumption drops from app. 10 m3 / h on app. 1 m3 / h. This 1 m3/h is water that evaporates or it is taken outside the pasteurizer with bottles. However, with this system it is still necessary to take into account the loss of water on the cooling tower due to evaporation, which are approx. 2,5m3 / h. The total result of water consumption is decrease from 10 to 3,5 m3/h.
Further upgrades to reduce water consumption in longer period:
WATER FILTRATION – Further in water recovery system we in build mechanical water filter with UV disinfection of water. On the OP panel we integrate a schedule for regenerative filtration of process water. Filtration prolongs the use of same water without adding the chemicals or with their reduced amount.
WATER STORAGE - The hot and cold water tanks are designed with bigger buffer than they are normally required for the system's own operation, which means that at the end of the production it is not necessary to drop water into the drain, but all the water from the tunnel pasteurizer is being stored in these two tanks in which is being regenerated by filtration. The same water can be used in the next production.
CIP CLEANING OF TUNNEL - With automatic CIP washing, we simplify and ease work for the operators in aspect of cleaning and we also achieve better cleaning effect of the tunnel, leaving fewer bacteria that pollute the water in the tunnel, which contributes to the prolongation of the use of "same" water.
